All of our inserts are designed to work together as a system with snaps that can attach to one another.

Tips for Washing Cloth Diapers

A Simple Cloth Diaper Wash Routine

This simple flow can be used to build most any cloth diaper wash routine.

  1. Remove solids into the toilet. This can done with a diaper sprayer toilet attachment, by physically shaking the diaper or by dunking the diaper in the toilet and "swishing" it around to remove the solids.
  2. Store dirty diapers in a pail or bag until wash day.
  3. Perform a prewash in your machine. We like to run my prewash with line 1 of Tide powder detergent and a normal, heavy cycle with warm water.
  4. Perform a main wash. We tend to run a heavy duty cycle with an extra rinse. For this cycle we will add line 1 of tide, sometimes line 2 if it's a particularly large load.

How to prep new reusable cloth diapers and inserts

We recommend that all of our wearable items are washed at least one time before wear.

For our inserts, we recommend 3 wash cycles before they are expected to perform their best. Our inserts may can contain natural oils that will wash away after a few cycles.

You can absolutely use inserts after just one wash, but note that they may not be their most absorbent until they've been washed a few times. Many families wash once with the expectation that the product will become more absorbent over time.

How to Bleach Sanitize Cloth Diapers

1. Begin with clean cloth diapers. Ensure that your diapers have been washed and rinsed thoroughly before sanitizing. Note that sanitizing is not a remedy for detergent build up.

2. Dilute bleach in cold water. Use a bleach that is labeled as a disinfectant for effective sanitizing of your modern cloth diapers. Ensure that the bleach you choose is at least 5.25% sodium hypochlorite. You can find this information on the packaging.

3. Soak the cloth diapers in your diluted bleach solution for at least 15 minutes, but no longer than one hour. Excessive soaking for long periods of time, such as overnight, is not necessary and may cause unnecessary wear on the lining or elastics of your diapers. Be sure that each diaper is fully submerged for best results.

4. Rinse with warm water, followed by a warm wash cycle in your machine to remove any excess bleach. Sometimes bleach may irritate your baby's delicate skin—be sure to rinse all cloth diapers well to ensure that all of the bleach is removed.

5. Dry as desired. We recommend air drying or tumbling dry on low or no heat.

Cleaning Cloth Diapers Affected by Insects
  1. Begin by rinsing the maggots from the soiled cloth diapers with cold water. This can be done indoors, into the toilet with your diaper sprayer or outdoors with a garden hose.
  2. After rinsing off the maggots, do an initial rinse of the soiled cloth diapers in your washing machine. You can add a small amount of bleach to the rinse cycled if it makes you feel more comfortable. It is important to follow the manufacturer instructions on the packaging for the bleach product that you purchase to ensure that you do not add too much.
  3. Wash and dry the affected cloth diapers as you normally would utilizing both your normal pre-wash and main-wash cycles.

Artwork & Prints

Where do you find the artists you work with?

We carefully curate our artist network. Often times, we reach out to artists to inquire about licensing their work. Sometimes, artists reach out to us with ideas for collections.

If you're an artists that is interested in working with us, please fill out our artist survey »

Why don't you have any Disney or Character prints?

Short answer: Legally licensing art from big corporations, like Disney or Nickelodeon is far too cost prohibitive for small businesses like Kinder.

Longer answer: We know that there are other small businesses running prints like this. Creating or buying art that features any copywrited or licensed characters from your favorite shows or movies is against the law and unethical unless sourced directly from the license holder.

These characters, popular phrases and even lyrics to songs are considered intellectual property and cannot be used for commercial use without the proper licensing.

For example, one cannot run a print featuring the characters from Finding Nemo unless purchased directly from Disney. Buying a print from a small creator on Etsy who has illustrated Nemo is also illegal and simply not worth the risk.

When will the print I love be back in stock?

We do our best to curate a collection of prints that everyone will love and re-release prints that have a positive response from our community.

Join our discord community to help choose retired prints that might re-release next.
